Lee Fields & The Expressions haben nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Albums „Special Night“ über Big Crown Records an diesem Wochenende ihr Fernsehdebüt in der Sendung „This Morning Saturday“ auf CBS gegeben und die Songs „Make The World“ und das Titelstück des Albums vorgestellt.
Im Januar wird Lee Fields mit seiner sechsköpfigen Band auf eine umfangreiche Tournee nach Europa kommen, nachdem Fields mit seiner die Westküste bespielen und am 7. Januar für eine Show ins Irving Plaza nach New York zurückkehrt. Dort wird er zusammen mit seinen Labelkollegen Lady Wray und Paul & The Tall Trees auftreten.

Die Geschichte von Lee Fields ist nahezu einzigartig: 1969 nimmt er seine erste Platte auf, er veröffentlicht Alben auf 13 verschiedenen Labels und ist seit fast einem halben Jahrhundert aktiv. Mit Unterstützung seiner Band The Expressions und deren unvergleichlicher Soul-Könnerschaft ist aus „Special Night“ ein besonderes Album geworden: den Traditionen der Soul-Musik verpflichtet und immer mit Blick nach vorne, damit das Genre auch in der heutigen Musiklandschaft seinen verdienten Platz findet.
